Welcome to the quiet corner of the Internet about the guy in the picture.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope this site is helpful.
The Roots
I was born and raised in a quiet town in Northern Ontario in a brick house painted white with green shutters. I usually describe it as the kind of town large enough to have a shopping mall but Northern enough to have a devoted snowmobile parking lot at the shopping mall. I had about as wholesome an upbringing as is widely available. I had a red wagon, a cocker spaniel, the right amount of toys, friends and adventures, a part time job, and a girlfriend or two. My parents separated when I was young but remain friends. My younger brother is smart in all the ways that I am not.
Writing found me on a variety of fronts and battlefields, inching its way in until I was convinced that I had a word or two worth sharing. Writing found me, it's the most genuine way I can put it, and like any calling it has thus far textured my life with its greatest accomplishments and most harrowing shadows of doubt. I know how lucky I am to have had so many chances to find interest in this craft, when at first I thought: "I can't do this… I'm no writer."
I guess I hope to tell anyone thinking the same thing: “If I can… you guessed it, grab a pen.”

The Fruit
It's been difficult for me to frame my writing for the purposes of this auto-my-ography, but as you've graciously made it this far, I'll do my best to put this into words.
I find interest in any writing that I find persuasive. I think all good prose is an argument delivered in a portrait of written imagery. Whether I'm mercilessly deriding the values of the latest misguided pop idol to bake under the media spotlight or forging the pensive perspective of a character confronting something horrifying, I feel that I have something convincing to conjure, or a reader to lose. Every image on every page or every satirical barb is a creation that will happily find friend or foe, so long as it is not ignored.
Every reader is the jury and every case I make starts with a blank page. I think I'll always pursue the kind of writing endeavors that require a lot of convincing because of how closely tied I feel to that fiction, because it was nothing before me.
The Valiant Unheroic is my first Novel and certainly not my last. I eagerly look forward at a long road ahead of me.
